Toluna Review 2024 – How Much Can You Make?

There are 8 million businesses in the United States, and some will pay to learn more about consumers.

That means you can make money just by sharing your opinion!

But how?

By using an online survey platform like Toluna.

Toluna manages surveys so companies can hear from real consumers. By creating an account and answering some questions, you can influence the market and earn money and gift cards while you’re at it.

Toluna is a survey platform that offers you surveys that pay cash instantly. My other favorite rewards sites are Survey Junkie, InboxDollars, and Branded Surveys, but I do think anyone looking to earn extra cash should consider Toluna too.

In this Toluna review, I’ll break down exactly how it works and help you decide if the platform is worth it for you.

What is Toluna?

Often called “Toluna Influencers,” Toluna is a platform that pays people to take surveys. It’s an up-and-coming name in the online survey world, and it recently acquired Vocalyz, a former survey platform.

You might be wondering about the word “influencer” in the platform’s name. What’s it all about?

Well, Toluna is a market research company. When you take a survey on the platform, you’re letting a company know how to develop its products. That means you’ll be influencing the marketplace just by giving your opinion.

Pretty cool, right?

But don’t worry. The satisfaction of being an “influencer” isn’t all you’ll get from Toluna. You’ll also gain access to monetary rewards, including cash and gift cards.

Signing up for Toluna is super straightforward. Let me break it down:

  1. Go to the official Toluna website and click “Register.”
  2. Provide some basic information and create a username and password.
  3. Click the link in a confirmation email to finalize your registration.

That’s it!

It’s completely free, and you won’t have to provide any invasive details. Just be prepared to link your account to PayPal if you want to receive cash rewards.

Also, make sure you complete your profile surveys. You can find them on your main “Account” page. They’re super easy, and they’ll help you receive more surveys.

Plus, you’ll get 100 free points for each profile survey you complete!

How Much Can You Make on Toluna?

Many people report earning around $1-$3 per hour on Toluna. Your income will depend on how much luck you have qualifying for surveys.

To maximize your earnings, make sure you’re taking advantage of all the opportunities available. Ways to earn include:

  • Taking surveys
  • Playing games
  • Participating in competitions
  • Updating your profile
  • Referring friends

Even if you do all these activities, you still won’t get rich. But then, getting rich is never the idea with a survey site, right?

The goal should be to bring in some extra money – and Toluna can absolutely help you do that.

As you take surveys and complete other tasks, you’ll get rewarded with points.

Each survey can earn you between 15 and 50,000 points, depending on the length. You can convert those points into gift cards to retailers like Amazon, Target, and Starbucks or get cash delivered through Paypal.

In the ‘Rewards Centre,’ you can browse available rewards and see how many points are needed to redeem each reward.

Is Toluna Legit?

Toluna is a totally legitimate platform. It’s run by a reputable company, and it consistently pays out as promised.

Toluna isn’t some random website. It’s the public-facing branch of Toluna USA, Inc., a multinational market research company based in Connecticut.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) gives Toluna an A+ rating.

Does that mean everybody has a good experience on the platform? Of course not. You can see negative reviews right on the company’s BBB page. But the A+ rating does prove that Toluna is a legitimate company.

And on review sites like Trustpilot, user after user compliments Toluna for paying out effectively. Yes, there are bad reviews – about not qualifying for surveys and other typical issues – but none that suggest the platform isn’t legit.

Is Toluna Safe?

By all accounts, Toluna is safe to use.

In all my time researching Toluna and reading reviews online, I haven’t encountered a single complaint about crime or stolen data. But I have found lots of people praising the site for consistently making payments.

The “small print” on Toluna’s website is also reassuring. They have a detailed privacy policy where they spell out exactly how they collect and use your data. And in their “Terms” page, they tell you how to use the site so you avoid getting your account deleted.

This type of transparency is one more sign that the site is safe and legitimate.

Pros and Cons of Toluna

We’ve reached the key section of any decent Toluna review, where you learn what’s great about the site and what falls short of expectations.

Overall, I’d say the pros outweigh the cons – but you can decide for yourself.

Pros

  • Toluna is available in many countries around the world and even in multiple languages.
  • There are several cashout options, including Paypal and gift cards.
  • The mobile app makes it easy to take surveys on the go.

Cons

  • Users get disqualified from lots of surveys.
  • You have to use your points within 16 months, or they expire.
  • Some people have their accounts mistakenly deactivated or suspended.

Toluna Reviews

There are lots of positive Toluna reviews on the web, enough to give the platform a 3.9-star rating on Trustpilot. But there are also some bad ones. Because, hey, even reputable platforms aren’t perfect.

Let’s start by looking at a positive Toluna review. Not only did this user find the platform easy to use, but they also got multiple surveys and received their bonus instantly.

Another user gave an extremely thoughtful 4-star Toluna review. It sounds like their overall experience has been good, but they wish they weren’t disqualified from so many surveys.

The disqualification rate is definitely the platform’s biggest problem.

Another user said the surveys are “easy and good” but complained of getting “kicked out of” half the surveys.

And then there’s the issue of having your account deleted altogether.

One user said their account was shut down with no explanation. This person was moving between 2 countries, but that probably shouldn’t have resulted in getting kicked off the site.

Unfortunately, managing a massive load of accounts is often difficult for survey platforms, and it sounds like Toluna is prone to the occasional mistake.

Toluna Reviews Reddit

I found an interesting Reddit thread where a user asked about Toluna.

People responded by describing their experiences with Toluna. Everyone seemed to agree that the site was legit, but they also raised some minor concerns.

In one brief Toluna review, a user said it could “take a while” to earn rewards.

Their reaction? They don’t rely on the site but use it alongside other survey platforms.

That sounds like a good strategy.

Another reviewer complained about their points expiring. On Toluna, points expire after 16 months, which is definitely something to watch out for if you create an account.

One person took an especially negative view of Toluna, warning that “you won’t make money” on the site.

It’s also important to remember that some Toluna users will qualify for more surveys than others. Each survey designer is looking for people with certain interests and demographic backgrounds.

If you happen to meet the eligibility requirements for lots of surveys, you could earn much more than other people on the site.

So here’s an idea: Use Toluna yourself to see how many surveys you qualify for. Then, decide whether it’s worth it to continue.
